Simple not always simple
Caught this quote at Scripting News:
"In tech, when someone says something is complicated, check it out, they're probably trying to confuse you. That's why I called it Really Simple Syndication, as a clue. If it's really simple, what could be confusing?"
A corollary perhaps:
In tech when something is labelled simple it is not necessarily so.
Sometimes it is a deliberate attempt to confuse or wishful thinking (or some historical artifact or holdover from when it actually was simple).
Take "Simple Sequencing" in SCORM 2004 for instance -- unfortunately far from simple.
I guess the "can't tell a book by it's cover" adage (or don't judge a spec by its name?) applies.
