Our Approach to Instructional Design

At the outset of a project, a facilitated session is conducted with the project stakeholders to understand key business objectives, business processes, timeframes; to identify and validate important functional, technical, integration and customization requirements; and to define the final project scope. This results in the production of an initial detailed project plan and budget as well as an instructional design.

The instructional design includes a set of "Content Maps" (one for each lesson), an e-learning application map, and, if applicable, a Learning Management System (LMS) application map. These maps help manage the scope of the project by outlining the scope of each of the lessons and the expected functionality of the application.

Throughout the project, facilitated project meetings with the client are conducted where the project plan and schedule is constantly reviewed and updated to reflect milestones/deliverables achieved, dates projected through to project completion, and highlights of any changes in project scope and definition.

A unique collaborative strategy is used to handle any gaps in the content. This involves the videotape of facilitated interviews with subject matter expert(s) to capture large volumes of content efficiently and integrate it with any existing material already provided.

From the instructional design, detailed storyboards are developed, in collaboration with subject matter expert(s), which outline navigation flow, interactive links and graphical references for each web page.
