Delivery
Our e-learning applications can be delivered in a
Learning Management System (LMS) environment, through the
Internet/Intranet viewed by different browsers, or on a CD. Courses by
Wire can also host a Learning Delivery System (LDS)
for delivery of a training curriculum and assist our clients with the
development of marketing strategies.
Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Organizations are now recognizing the need to capture
detailed information about employee training and comprehension using a
Learning Management System. A LMS is a server-based system that controls
access to and delivery of a pre-established or customized on-line
curriculum through a standard web browser. A LMS has the capability to track,
record and report on training assessment results.
A LMS solution often targets large enterprise
companies to provide a costly, all-inclusive solution that includes both
key features as well as many additional features.
Hosting a Learning Delivery
System (LDS)
Courses by Wire offers an affordable and configurable
Learning Delivery Systems (LDS) to deliver a training curriculum and to
track results. A LDS performs the same function as a LMS with respect to
the delivery of training and the tracking of results. A LDS does not
have the additional features that come with a high-priced enterprise LMS
solution.

Our Learning Delivery System (LDS) provides a unique,
affordable and configurable on-line learning environment for
delivery of the final course structure that enables course
"hosts" access to:
- Facilities to control course access through registration of valid
learners,
- Extensive administrative tracking of each learner's progress
through a course,
- Their own corporate identity for "hosting" their
courses, and ·
- Flexible charging and access to e-commerce capabilities.
This on-line learning environment also
enables learners to take a course:
- Without being restricted by instructor availability,
- At their own convenience, since there is no requirement to gather
together a number of people to make the course viable, and
- In convenient time chunks to suit their particular needs.
A LMS or a LDS is a necessary component in an on-line
training curriculum that has certification as its goal. A LMS or a LDS
is often packaged as a learning portal with access to on-line discussion
forums, event calendars, chat facilities, small group tutoring
facilities and live on-line presentations.
